Account data

When you sign in with Google, we collect your email address, name, and profile picture. Authentication is managed through Amazon Cognito; we do not receive or store your Google password.

Financial data

We store the incomes, expenses, balances, categories, and notes you enter into the app so we can calculate and display your projected running balance on the calendar.

WhatsApp data

If you choose to link WhatsApp to record expenses, we process your phone number and the content of the messages you send us via Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, solely to create the corresponding entries in your account.

Hosting & storage

All data is stored on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the us-east-1 (N. Virginia) region.

No selling of data

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar storage only for authentication and session management — never for tracking or advertising.

Data deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@brokeornot.com with your request. We will action the deletion of your account, financial data, and any linked WhatsApp data.
