Frequently asked questions

What is Broke or Not?

Broke or Not is a free, calendar-based personal budget planner. You enter your income and expenses — one-off or recurring — and it projects your running balance onto every future day, so you can check any date and know whether you can afford what is coming.

Who is Broke or Not for?

Anyone paid on a schedule who has regular commitments to cover between paydays — rent or a mortgage, loan instalments, school fees, subscriptions. It is built for individuals and households planning their own money, not for businesses or accountants.

Is Broke or Not free?

Yes. Broke or Not is free to use. There is no charge, no trial period that expires, and no payment card required to sign up.

Where is my financial data stored?

The incomes, expenses, balances, categories and notes you enter are stored on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the US East (N. Virginia) region. Broke or Not does not sell your data and does not use it for third-party advertising.

How do I delete my account and my data?

In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. That permanently erases your account and your financial data. If you cannot get into the app, the Privacy Policy explains how to request deletion by email instead.
